Historie
Description
Metal bracelets/bracelets in the Iron Age were a part of everyday life of the people of that time. This fact is reflected not only in the number of specimens found, but also in their long and varied development, which can be observed especially in the changes of decoration and shape. It was not just a decorative part of the garment. The bracelets/bracelets also had social, cultural and economic value, which was particularly evident in the way they were handled during burials and storage. The book is the first comprehensive treatment of this phenomenon in Moravia. It defines the individual typological categories of bracelets/bracelets and presents a typological and chronological analysis of them. There is also a reflection on the significance of these jewels, a search for the origin of their popularity and a reconstruction of the bracelet and armlet part of the costume, especially of socially superior individuals. The book is supplemented by a catalogue of all specimens from Moravia and photographic documentation.
