Description
The book "Encyclopedia of Organic Synthesis Through Reaction Schemes" covers the synthesis of common and less common organic substances in ten chapters, based on procedures described in the literature. Most information is summarized in reaction schemes, so the book doesn’t contain much text. The reaction schemes include not only the starting substance and the product but also the reaction yield, the solvents used, catalysts and reaction conditions. A preference was given to the reactions with high yields and available starting materials that could be used in low-tonnage production. Brief synthesis procedures are also provided for selected compounds. The source literature is given for reaction in each chapter, enabling easy search for detailed information about the synthesis. The substances are summarized in chapters according to the type of compound. The more complex reaction schemes and multi-step reactions are assigned to the chapters based on only one of the reaction steps, a used intermediate, etc. In these cases, the centralization of information and a broader overview of the reactivity of given group were prioritized. The primary content of each chapter is supplemented by an extenive index of reactions and discussed products, starting substances and key reactants, spanning 144 pages. The book is intended to provide a quick overview of the basis preparations and reactivity of the given types of compounds. It can be used both in the academic sphere and industrial research laboratories.
