The book presents an insight into the fascinating world of visual camouflage. The text is divided into two fundamental parts, which are focused on the design of military camouflage schemes in terms of their area of application - On Land and At Sea. These chapters present chronologically the development of shapes and colours of camouflage systems for uniforms, vehicle coatings, equipment and ships in the period 1914-1918, 1919-1938, 1939-1945 and After 1945. The book also makes references to some camouflage schools and special units. Possible ways of further development of visual camouflage systems based on new technologies, such as multispectral or adaptive camouflage, are also indicated in the book. The text includes a large number of pictorial attachments.
